hair loss on gonal-f and cetrotide?

Hi everyone,

My best girlfriend --who doesn't speak English too well so I'm posting for her-- has been experiencing female pattern hair loss since starting fertility treatments. She's on gonal-f and cetrotide. Her FS was non-committal about whether the treatment might be causing the hair loss.

She is 38 and was ovulating but not getting pregnant before starting the treatments and she had regular length cycles. Any experiences out there?

Hi there,

Does your friend have normal thyroid function? I have use many IVF drugs and haven't had hair lost or was told hair lost was a side effect.

Sorry can't help much there.

Thanks, Kahlan. I'll ask her about the thyroid and maybe I'll post this in another thread too. The hairloss started with the start of treatment but of course it could be from other reasons. (Congrats on Ducky Junior!).
