Just thought I would ask the lovelies in here what I can do, if anything... DH is alseep after a long night at work, so past experience has taught me not to wake him for trivial matters
Last night I made a massive Beef Strog in the slow cooker - there is never usually any left at all, but I made double because we had extra people staying last night.
Turns out I have STACKS left over... is it any good to keep & Luke & I can have it again tonight?
Its still in the slow cooker (not cooking) - It was on warm until DH came home last night & ate his, then he turned it off (prob around 1.30-2am). The lid has been on the whole time.
With other things in the SC, I just put the leftovers in containers.. but just not sure with strog because of the sour cream if its any good now?
The thought of putting it in the fridge & then re heating doesn't seem right either with the sour cream
So what can I do.. anything?
Seems like such a waste (and it was a fab strog, too ).. added bonus would be that I don't have to cook anything tonight
Or do I just cut my losses & Eddie & Leo (our dogs LOL) get to have a gourmet meal today?!
Yep - I would package it up and put it in the fridge.
The sour cream might separate a little while it is in the fridge (depends on how liquid your sauce is - the thicker it is the less it will happen) but it should mix back in once it is heated up.
