what happens if you go into labour before CS date?
What happens if you go into labour before your booked date? Do you get to still have your c section? Has this happened to anyone before? I am worried that this little man will come sooner that Obs is thinking. He wants to book us in for 39 weeks, we want to go in at 38 weeks so that DH can take care of me for an extra week when we get home. But I don't think he will even wait that long. I have already been getting strong period type pains and heavy pressure in the pubic bone. I feel like I could sneeze hard and he will start wanting to come out.
But then again I am well known for being a bit paranoid!
Hi Puppies
one of the girls in mums group went in to labour the sunday before her booked caesar, her bub was breech thats why she was having a cs so she still had her cs, i'm sure if your ob is happy for you to have a cs that if you went in to labour earlier you will would still have a cs. The pressure that you're feeling good be bub on his/her way down ready for birth, but i'm no expert
Good luck with everything
You usually end up having an emergency c/s hon.
My c/s with Vy was booked in for the 5th of Spetember and she decided she liked the 2nd better at 3 in the morning..and yep had an emergency c/s
Hi puppies, I went into labour a week and a half before my c/s date. I was booked in at 38.5 weeks (had placenta praevia). My DS had other ideas and I went into labour at 36+6, waters broke, contractions 5 min apart. Rang and went to the hospital, they called my ob who came in and did the c/s then, therefore it was recorded as emergency c/s.
I guess if you do go into labour just ring your midwife/hospital and let them know, and they will guide you. One way to look at it is that if you do go into labour first at least you know bubs was ready to come out
Hi puppies- i was due to have my c section on the tuesday and went into labour the sat night before- i went to the hospital at about 11pm and they kept a close eye on me and as i was in very early stages of labour i was given two panadene forte and rested up for the night and had my c section early sunday morning. It wasnt classed as emergency i still got to be awake and i WAS given the option to comtinue with labour (VBAC) but i opted to go with the c section. It worked out well actually- it was a quiet sunday morning and i got straight in after being prepped rather than having to wait in a que!!
I was also happy that DS got to "choose" his time rather than a planned day that worked with the hospitals schedual instead of when Nature chose for him to arrive!
I would suggest you go in as soon as you think that its really labour- for me that was when i got the period pain and the belly tightens at the same time every 10 mintues or so!!
Ive been wondering this too, but if i was to go into labour naturally prior to my elective then I think id like to give natural a shot, im not sure though
i did giva it a shot- becuae i really felt ( cause my waters broke naturally) that my son was ready to come out thru my hoo-haa.
i really hope it happens thedame again with my girl.
try no tto think about it to much now, jsut worry about it later, you'll make the right decsion fo ryou bub and you at the time.
