    What would you do??

    Hey

as you all probably know i have been bleeding since finding out 8 days ago that we are pregnant but we have been monitoring my levels and they are still rising, my last level check was on tuesday and they came back at 697 they were 237
i have another bt on monday to check on things again and if everything comes back good we are booked in for a US on friday.

    so here is my question:

i have to let work know tomorrow if i will be coming back on monday!!
i dont know what to do??? i am scared and in a way i am worried that if i go to work and stand for 5hrs straight while serving people and unpacking boxes to fill shelves, i might be pushing it iykwim
the bleeding is still here but its slowed down alot to compared to last week.
I dont think work will be very impressed with me if i take another week off, considering its christmas and they are flat out, but then there not the ones that have been trying to fall pregnant for nearly 7 yrs and dont want to take any risks!!!

oh bugger i dont know what to do HELP

"but then there not the ones that have been trying to fall pregnant for nearly 7 yrs and dont want to take any risks!!!"

i think this says it all, espicially if you are packing shelves and standing, there is no way id be risking it, you and your baby comes first and they will get over it!!
Thinking of you and sending you loads of sticky vibes, good luck for monday!!

is there a way you can talk to your employer about the fact that you have a medical condition at the moment, and need reduced duties (i know your dr will write you a letter if needed) - so no heavy lifting, and you need to sit for serving - or at least have the option?

i think scooby pointed out the main point - you have to do what is best for you and baby - not what is best for them - a job is a job - what you're looking at is a life babe

Reduced duites is an option for you with a med cert and maybe needed

Is it a casual role? Beacuse if no you can take more leave if you have it

thanks so much for your quick replies

i was thinking the samething, but was worried that i might of trying to wrap myself up in too much wool iykwim?

they said i can come back to work and just do registers, but i wont be able to have a chair whilst serving or to sit on while i am not serving, i dont know why i cant have a chair but apparently i cant!!

i am only casual and they told me that after christmas i wont be getting 30hrs a week like have been getting, plus my boss has been really rude about the whole situation, i was upfront with them the moment i found out i was pregnant, i rang them straight away and said that i had just found out, but am bleeding so i will be taking the week off and man was she rude!!!!

ok so do i go to work and do registers from 9-2 everyday with no chair and only a 10min break, or do we just wait and see how things go friday with the scan and then make a decision then??

i feel so bad and i hate knowing that i am letting them down but this baby means the world to me and i would be absolutley gutted if i went back to work and the bleeding got worse. i am so careful with everything at the moment, you should see me walk i am walking around at a slow pace just cos i am trying to take things easy

thanks again for your help i really appreciate it

only you can make that call - if you think you'll be ok to do a five hour shift, tell them you'll do it - if you're not up to it, you can always get a med cert to get you out of it. if you reject the shifts and you want to go in, you're screwed...

    oh you poor girl,
well the girls have given some very good options there
BUT if there gonna treat you not good at work and if you can afford it dont go back no money is worth that crap after every thing youve been through and standing for 5 hrs your going to be aching and worrying if every thing is going ok..
BUT thats my opinion hun and i no its a bit blunt but just look at how far you have come your doing great and you can always look for another easier job-i dont no but what ****heads at your work gee they could at least give you the chair omg-how rude

    hey

just had a really big talk with dp and we both have agreed that its best to wait until after the ultrasound. we dont really need the money and its not like my job is at risk cos they have already told me that my hours are going to be reduced after christmas, plus i know that i will be getting the cold shoulder from them cos i have had a week off already, they really hate people taking time off and there so nasty about it
mind you my boss is 24 has never had kids and would never understand what is going on

thanks again for your replies, you have made me feel alot better. I need to put this little bubba first and thats what i am going to do

Hi M2C, I only just read your post, so sorry I couldn't get to reply earlier on today. I am glad that you have talked with DP and that you have a plan. I think that all the other girls have said the same as what I would have. After all you have been through sweetie, you most certainly need to do what is best for baby and you. Smithy is so right in saying that the least they could do is give you a chair. Oh it sounds like a very horrible place to work - I will be thinking about you over the weekend and trust that all goes well with the BT and US next week.

Wrap yourself in all the cotton wool you need. You had better have your feet up right now young lady.......

    Take care xoxo

so glad you could come to a decision that both you and DP are happy with. sometimes it's hard to make a call if you have opinions that are at odds with each other (some would have a partner that think the distraction is important) - so i'm happy that you've devised a plan between you.

i am very thankful that i have a partner like that - he has supported me in having 10 weeks off work to manage morning sickness, and has told me i can take my entire pregnancy off without pay if it means making sure myself and the gremlin are happy and healthy. i WANT to go back to work for the social aspect, but it makes it easier to be calm about staying home when i have his support.

good luck next week with results babe
