I had really bad back pain for most of this pregnancy. I actually tore a muscle in my lower back around 7 weeks and had to do Physio for a while which didn't really help much because I couldn't do some of the exercises being pregnant and all.
It's always a good idea to get it checked out by your OB first and get a referral to a Physio to be assessed.
me me me me!! Its one of my first symptoms in pregnancy. I get very low back pain and i find it very hard to walk
I'm going to see a chiropractor tomorrow who "loves" working on pregnant women so hopefully she can straighten me out a little. And it only gets worse as belly gets bigger and heavier
Its' my first symptoms too, luckily I have a fantastic chiro> Last time I was in pain and could barely walk until 16 weeks, this time I was seeing chiro early so only had the excruciating pain for one day at 5 weeks. Definitely see a good chiro. I also swear it helped me have a quick birth last time xo
I have really bad lower back pain this time around too. I am an aged care nurse and even though there are 'no lift policies' in place, there is still alot of strain on your back. The morning (all day) sickness isn't helping with my job either!
Ok so i had my first chiro appt this morning and she is awesome! She is also a mum of young children and knew exactly what i needed. She had a special table which seperated for my belly to go in and she found lots of things wrong with my posture.
She made me stand one foot on one scale and the other foot on another to check the shifting of weight. I was 20kg heavier on my right side!! she couldnt believe it was that much of a difference so definitely lucky i went in early to get all this fixed before i get too big.
I also read some great pregnancy pamphlets in there stating that chiro care definitely helps with labours etc
Thanks for all your responses very much appreciated. I have been diagnosed with sciatica and I am only 9 wks pregnant. I can't move. It is exceptionally painful. I have been to see a physio the morning but don't feel I am getting any relief as I only feel terribly ill afterwards and end up with nausea and vomitting and feel dizzy.
The chiro will help put everything back into place. It also helps with the nervous system. I would definitely give it a go but try and find someone who specialise in pregnancy
Ubba82 - I so here you there... it is impossible not to 'lift' some times, i'm an aged care nurse too... And already had to have a few days off becuase of the nausea! So my back was already a killer before i was pregnant it just gets worst
Danni i hope you get someone to help you soon!!! the morning sickness is bad enough without having sciatica problems! Hugs to you
