just wondering am i suppose to go see a gp or something??
i dont know how this works?? with dd i went to normal gp, so am i suppose to do the same thing with this one?? if so then i havent been yet ( oops)
all the bt's and my ultrasound next week is through the ivf clinic
if i go see my normal gp, will i have to go through everything with him about the ivf and it being cancelled but fell pregnant with the 2 eggs we had?? and do i tell him about the bt's that i have already had and stuff like that??
hun i went to my GP today who I haven't seen in 6 months and just told her I was pregnant, which had been checked through 2 BTs by the IVF clinic. I didn't give her any levels just found out what I need regarding our pregnancy and birthing options. I got my 12 weeks scan referal from her and some general blood tests checking normal health stuff like iron, folate, Hep B&C etc.
BTW we are due on the same day! Congrats hun and I hope this bleeding stops soon and that your BT goes well on Monday.
so do you think i should go see a gp? i think i better huh?? cos i remember getting all of those test (iron, folate) done with dd. should i wait till after the scan to see gp or go see him before scan???
M2C - i was under the "care" of the FS up until i was about 8 or 9 weeks. i had a follow up "congrats you're pregnant, which doc, which hosp are you going through?" kinda chat with the FS at a bit over 7 weeks, he referred me for another u/s at 8 weeks (at my request) - and i started with a shared care GP at 11 weeks. due to some complications, i'm going to be seeing an Ob as well. i would work out what GP you want to be under for your care (if they have delivery rights at the local hospital), and book in to midwife clinic if that's how you want to go.
if i were you, i would contact the midwifery unit at your hospital, work out what doctors work into that hospital, and go from there.
Hi there M2C, hope you are doing OK today and enjoying your weekend.
With our DD (conceived with IUI), I had the BT plus followup 6 week and 8 week scan with the FS/Clinic. They then send goodbye to me and I went to my own GP for a referral to a OB/Hospital (I chose to go private). But as I was already around 9 weeks and couldn't get into to see the OB before about 12/13 weeks, my GP organised all the relevant blood tests (ie Iron/folate etc) plus also a ultrasound slip for 12 week scan, plus the nuchal (spelling) fold test and subsequent blood test. All results were sent to my GP plus the OB, so when I went for my first appoint she had all the info.
