xmas money and teen DD that has left home

Ok, looking for BG's advice here, pretty please. (or anyone else that may know).
I just checked the c/link website and my "xmas bonus" money is going in on Wednesday, they are giving me $4000 (for 4 children). My teen daughter has left home (that is a whole other thread!!!), I advised c/link of this about 3 weeks ago. My question is should i still be getting the $1000 for her or only for the 3 that are at home? Should I leave $1000 in the bank to return to c/link incase I am not entitled to it?

    Advice is much appreciated!

I am sure that BG (being the knower of all things C'Link will be here soon) but in the mean time I am almost positive that it is paid as of the situation on the date of the announcement. I know that babies born since then don't get it.

I'm not sure Lulu, she has totally disowned me since she found out that I told c/link she can come home at any time. I know she is not getting the higher rate for being away from home as she txt'ed me abusive messages for telling c/link I didnt kick her out and that she ran away! I will leave it in the bank for a while, I wasn't counting on that extra 1000 anyway, as I figured that I wouldnt get it....will come in handy if i can keep it though, LOL.

I think she was still at home when the announcement was made. Cant really remember when that was though.

i would think it's been paid to you as your daughter is on the dependent rate of youth allowance. my understanding was that it was to be paid for children considered dependent (so parental income used to work out how much they get) and it's probable that it's paying that way for that reason. i can't see them paying that amount of money to a 'dependant' childs account!

the only other thing is = are any of your kids on carer allowance at all?

i haven't been to work since all of this was announced so i'm at a bit of a loss to tell you exactly (and everyone finished at work about half hour ago so i can't ask) - but yeah, i'd think it's either carer allowance, or because she is considered dependent and they won't pay it to a child in those circs. definitely call fao tomorrow (8am is good - just as the phone lines open) - they'll clarify for you - then come back and post your response for the rest of us!

Thanks Bg. No, none of my children are on a carers allowance. I will give FAO a call tomorrow (as long as they ont keep me on hold too long, lol). I gave them plenty of notice that she no longer lives here though, so hope I dont have to give it back, LOL.

you shouldn't have to as she is living elsewhere but still deemed dependent on you - just because she CHOOSES not to live with you, you are still responsible for her financially - if you and DH got a pay rise, your incomes would take her payment away

    ring right on 8 am

or they're open til 8pm tonight if you want to call through now.
