Hi
Im new to TTC and im very confused!! I stopped taking the pill on the 8th December, since then I have had no period. I have also been using Maybe Baby for 3 weeks and I am only gettin pebbles - constantly!! It is so fustrating. When do I get my period and when do I ovulate? I have seen the GP had the blood tests and he said everything is fine.
But i have had no sign of ovulation!!
Im not entirely sure! as I used the pill to skip periods. I had a 2 day light bleed when i stopped the pill but I have been told that it doesnt mean anything. It is just so fustrating seeing the little pebbles every day for three weeks - surely something should of happened by now!!
But its been over a month now and no period / cramps. I am wondering if this Maybe bay thing is crap?
Quite a number of girls have posted negative thoughts about Maybe Baby. I'm getting some OPK's tonight on the way home but I'm going for the POAS type, steering clear of Maybe Baby. Friends of mine had complained about it too.
OK, no period as yet. As much as it is frustrating, you just need to sit tight and wait. Maybe get some different OPK's to try and I strongly suggest you look at this website Ovulation Calendar and Ovulation Chart - FertilityFriend.com and start charting. You will need to get a basal body temperature thermometer (about $15 at the chemist).
Do you remember if you were regular before you started skipping? Also, just because you stopped taking the pill, it doesn't mean you will automatically get your period. It might take a few weeks and that's if your cycles are somewhat regular. I'm sorry hon but you just need to give it time. Definitely try charting though. I, and many other girls in these forums, have found it very useful and interesting.
Oh, and keep going through the forums on this site. They are fabulous!!!
Hey ladies just a word of advice, go onto Lullaby Conceptions website and order your bulk packs of ovulation kits as they would get very costly buying from the chemist or supermarket. You can also buy your basal body temperature thermometer and bulk pregnancy testers also.
It can take some time for your cycle to return post OCP - for some women it is reasonably quick, others it can take a few months. It is worth consulting a Naturopath or Herbalist to rebalance your hormones and get your cycle regulated. Herbs work wonders for getting your body back into its natural rhythm, as does acupuncture.
Hold tight, keep an eye on your temps and cervical mucous, and allow your body a little time to rediscover its natural cycle.
I am confused like you. I stopped taking the pill middle of November and still nothing. I had my last period when I was taking the pill but since I stopped - nothing!.. Is there any way to tell when I will ovulate? Don't want to be doing pregnancy tests every other week if I can help it! - have done a couple that were both negative
Counting Days - cheers! I think I'd read your thoughts on another thread - you should work in marketing! Our friends had much the same thoughts and neither of them knew if it was ferning for sure or not. Sounds all too hard. I've started using Ovuplan strips (as of yesterday) so hopefully they help to detect the big O.
Juststarting - hang in there. It can take a while for your periods and cycles to return to normal after coming off the pill. I know it's frustrating but you just have to be patient. Give it a little longer and if you're still concerned see your GP. If you want to start testing to find out if and when you ovulate, try ovulation kits (cheap on the Net) and start charting (taking your temps daily) on Fertility Friend. This site has LOADS of useful information too so read, read, read. Fingers crossed your cycles get their act together sooner rather than later!
looks like i spoke to soon! my period arrived last night.. it's sad because i'm not pregnant (but its only early days)- but a good sign that my body is getting back to normal in preparation for things to come! thanks for the advice
Ah, AF made her entrance. That is a bugger but as you say, it gives you something to work with now. If you're a bit of a control freak like me and want to know what's going on with your body, I strongly suggest you start charting. Grab yourself an BBT (basal body thermometer) and OPK's if you like. Log all your info on a site such as Fertility Friend and you'll be amazed how much you learn about yourself.
Enjoy the journey - I hope it's short and sweet!

Hi - just wanted to add my 2 cents worth! I stopped taking the pill in April after being on it with no periods for about three years (as a hormonal treatment for endo). It took about six weeks for my first AF, which dr said is normal. He suggested waiting at least 2 months before ttc also, and I've read to wait until you have two 'normal' cycles off the pill before trying.
Also, I've used Maybe Baby everyday for about the last three months and have had one day of full ferning in all that time! BT this month confirmed O too (which happened on that one day of full ferning) My dr said the idea behind it is fine (and said CM also does the ferning thing too!). I'm guessing that an awful lot of people (me included) fall into the category of 'those that Maybe Baby isn't suitable for' ie low oestrogen levels etc
I know it's easier said than done, but be patient and good luck!
Im on the same boat as you ReggieB. Im on CD46 and still no period and have had negative HPT's. I was on the pill for about 2.5yrs and stopped taking it about 8 months ago. Been TTC for the last 4 months. I went to the doctor yesterday and im scheduled for a blood test if still no AF by the end of the week.
