see all this $1000 ppl are getting for having a kid.. yeah well i was wondering seeming i dont get it coz Mia was born after the 14th.. isnt there something that students get? coz on the 14th i was on youth allowance and studying. I was down as studying till the 28th but ofcourse it didnt happen coz i had Mia on the 22nd. Does it work like that? should i look into it?

Hun, only the parents of dependent YAL kids got the $1000.

yup - thats it - you had to be a dependent child on your folks, not on independent rate

hrmmm.. my mums partners sisters son got $1000 put into his account on monday not his parents. Hes 16-17 and on austudy.

he would still be considered dependent (so only gets paid what he gets based on his parents income)
