DS started crawling a week ago and is waking more during the night...what's going on?

Jack (DS) has FINALLY started crawling at the age of 11 months last Friday and has since had terrible nights. He wakes at least 2 or 3 times a night even after having a normal dinner, bottle or BF. He has plenty of water as well and nothing else has changed.

Last night we let him yell it out the second time he woke (and it's not crying...he's just yelling) but then the third time DH got up and brought him in for a BF. He had a half hearted suck and then fell asleep (that was just before 5am) so I took him back to bed at 5am and he slept until we got up at 7.

Does anyone have any ideas what's going on? Is it part of this new developmental stage?

Its normal for lots of kids to wake more at night when they start crawling, cos they practice these new skills when they go to bed apparently.

I find when DS learns a new 'major' skill like crawling, sitting, lots of words or something like that he is more wakeful. e.g. when he 1st learned to clap he clapped in his sleep!!! it settles down after a while....
