I live in Carina and I've never heard of it!

My youngest is in family daycare, but my 4 year old is at Tricia's Playschool in Morningside. I can't say enough good things about them, they are fantastic and DD LOVES it.

Tobily, what do you like about Tricia's? Its an Avenues centre isn't it? There is another one of those opening near here next year.

Lots to love! The director is great, she's very involved with the kids day to day, and really approachable to open to feedback and involvement from parents. The carers are all lovely - they seem to genuinely like what they do and where they're working which to me is always a good sign. Most of them know my DD by name even though she isn't in their rooms...it's also smaller than alot of other centres I looked at. There is only one room for each age group - so that really helps it have a warmer feel because parents can get to know eachother and the carers, and the carers all get to know us and our kids. They even greet my DS by name when we pick her up and he doesn't even go there . Some of the other centres I looked at had 2 rooms for each age group and there were just kids everywhere - it was so noisy and it just felt chaotic to me. Tricia's is very calm and organised, I guess because there are smaller numbers... my DD would've been pretty overwhelmed going from family daycare into a centre with a couple of hundred kids.

It's clean, the playground is good, the care has been great...she's been there a year and I've not had a complaint. I am verrrry picky - I looked through at least a half dozen centres before Tricia's, and as soon as I walked in there I knew it was right for us and have never regretted it. The whole vibe was just completely different to everywhere else. DD loves it and DS will be starting there next year too. There's a very low turnover of kids leaving there, DD has had mostly the same kids with her right through this year...lots of happy families

Good luck it's so hard finding suitable care....!
