I am VERY nervous about sending my DS (16mo) to childcare ... I shouldn't be, I know and he has been regularly looked after by both sets of grandparents and a nanny, so he should be fine, I know!
I am looking at places at both Princes Close (Prahran) and Treehouse (St Kilda). Does anyone have any comments or experiences that they can pass on to me so that I can compare?

I don't have personal experience with either centre although a girlfriend sends her 1 yo to Treehouse and she is v happy with the care there.
The advice I received here rang true time and time again - go with your gut! You will know when you walk in and around the place what is right for you and your little one.
How do the kids appear when you inspect the place? Happy and Stimulated? Otherwise?
Are the carers happy and hands on or dull and otherwise?
Ask about staff turnover - that can be quite telling if there is a lot of movement.
Also I understand that the wait lists in your geographical area were quite long before the whole ABC debacle. If after looking at both you would be happy to send your little one to either it would be a good idea to pop him on both lists and then some!
Also you may need to be v quick with your decision making as most centres will have just about settled their placements for next year.
