Riley has had that with every lot of ABs he has ever had so i think its normal.
DS has just started on ABs for a throat infection, and chronic conjunctivits. He has just had his second dose of Amoxil for today, and he's also started with what seems to be diarrhoea. He's had Amoxil before without this happening.
Is it normal? Does he need a different AB? Or should I stop worryingMight be hard, been a bad day
Thanks lovelies.

Janie - I think it's normal to some degree but if it continues and he seems out of sorts, I'd say it's upsetting his little tummy and you might like to try something different.
I hope the little man is all better soonIt's no fun when they're sick.
Yeah, ABs totally interfere with gut flora.
Give him things gentle to the tummy, it can last for a few weeks too.
Unfortunately normal hunJust try to protect the little bottom because it can irritate. Call me if you want to chat.
Thanks MichelleYou're a gem

Hiya Janie. Yeah, DD got an upset tum with the amoxil too. We tried a different sort the next time and it was marginally better, but I had to give her twice as much in one dose which was a nightmare! Like the others have said, keep an eye out and if he is really bothered by it you can always ask for a different AB to try. GL![]()
DS often gets an upset tummy when I'm on AB, so I guess it would be worse if he was on them! Can you give it to him after food, so it's not hitting an empty stomach?
i still get the same thing now myself on AB's - sucks - but i know ultimately the ab's getting rid of the bacterial infection are doing me more good than harm.
hope DS feels better soon - sounds like he's having a bad run!
