Go for it hun no harm in applying you can always knock it back if you change your mind!
Good luck
Hmm... some know that I want to move to Hervey Bay.....
And I've just found this brilliant job that I know I could do - totally different than what I've done before - but not so difficult that I COULDN'T do it... and its in Hervey Bay... and its in the public service...
Hmmm.... do I apply... or don't I....
I know I've got something else "cooking" up..... but that it something that my DH could handle if it came to that....
Its full time... so DH could stay at home and watch the kids whilst I went to work and he could get his business running at the same time that he wants to do...
HMMMM... decisions... decisions....
I think...
no harm in applying hey?![]()
Go for it hun no harm in applying you can always knock it back if you change your mind!

Mel there is absolutely no harm in applying! You can always knock it back if you get it, and it gives you some more time to make a decision about moving. Good luck hun.
Apply!
Go for it hun! You can always change your mind later but it could be an opportunity missed that you regret later.Good luck!
Ok I'll apply
darn selection criteria - I have until tomorrow - arghh!!!!!
Melski go for it hun, can't hurt to apply and don't forget that public service jobs have awesome maternity leave benefits that you just can't get in the private sector! Would be great for number 3! Good luck!
Do it!!!!
DH said no cos the world is too unstable and he may not be able to get a job, house isn't worth that much anymore... blah blah blah![]()
Mel, I see your DH's point, but I think that you should still apply, because, as it's been said before, you don't have to take the job, and also, even if they didn't offer you a job this time around, it would give you a reason to call them after the interview (cos I assume you'd get this far) & say how much you'd like to work for them so that it something comes up in the future you'd love to be considered. Life's all about networking, and if they've met you before & you've impressed them with your professionalism & enthusiasm, then you've already got a step up over people who they haven't met, if that makes sense. Plus it's always good practice applying for things.
Go for it Mel!
(i'd love to hear about Hervey Bay, what the pull is about that place for you - i know nothing about it, except whales go there too).
bhoysgirl - I see your point. However, I don't want to waste someone's time by having to read my application and think I'm good to interview, discuss me with other people, therefore wasting their time - and I'd have no intention of taking the job.
I just hate people wasting my time thats all - so I'd feel awful doing it to someone else...
Gigi - pmsl.. well.. I'm pretty fat... so almost whale-like... i'd fit right in... lol
There's still no harm in applying....he might think differently if you already have a strong wage with good conditions waiting for you.
You can always rent your house out, pls I second the maternity allowances...I'm getting paid to stay home for 6 months!!
Kim - its in the same government department that you are with![]()
there ya go girlfriend...I am also taking my AL which gives me 54 weeks paid leave.....
And you aren't wasting anyones time...they employ plenty of people that NEED to justify their jobs.
Thanks Kim...
I'll have to read over the selection criteria and see if I can put my "smart hat" on to answer it.. lol
OOh I just had a long chat with DH - we're going to put in the application and just see what happens... he's willing to stack shelves of a night time and watch the kids during the day if I get it.. whadda man...
Yes do it now is the time to move as I tell most of my candidate negotiate while the market is still good. Plus transfers are always there if you need them. I am sure DH will get work.
