Normally when there is public holidays payments go in a day or two before. Last week I checked DH's payments online, normally he would be due to receive his study allowance on 25th December and it stated he would receive it on 23rd and my payment which normally goes in on 26th would go in on 24th. I just checked DH's again and it is now saying his payment will go in on 29th, mine is still on 24th. Not sure why they changed it, not sure what's going on.
When does everyone else receive their payments?
Hmmmmm.... I always remember payments coming before the holiday... well I get mine on Tuesday but thats when its due BUT when its fallen on other public holidays I've gotten it before the holiday I am pretty sure...?
The funny thing is when I checked on the home page "holiday payments" it states that if your payment falls on the 25th the payment will go in on the 23rd, so don't know why in future payments it's showing the 29th .
Ok, so i gather your talking about family payments.....not sure i always thought it was the last working day before the public holiday you got your payments!
given you've mentioned "study" payment, i am assuming it is Austudy - which would be a payment that requires you to declare any earnings - is this right? if you're due to get a payment and haven't reported your income, the payment will not be stimulated. perhaps check on Monday whether you're due to report, and what day you need to so this
westy, with Christmas and Easter, payments get spread out more - it's not just put on the one pay day before the public holiday - essentially that would mean putting 3 days of payments on one day - which is too much on the system, and waaaaaaaaaay too much on the banks to process! could you imagine having to report income over the phone at the same time as everyone else - when it would normally have those calls spread over three days...?
Sorry BG, DH is getting Newstart Allowance but is currently studying so doesn't need to declare earnings and only needs to lodge his form every 6wks and isn't due to lodge until 7th Jan, so his payment due on the 25th would normally just get put into his account.
