Aww that's so sweet! My cat will sleep no where but on the bed - during the day on mine, and at night she moves to hers which is next to mine coz we get in the way!
I've had cats most of my life, but the two I've got now are the best at finding places to sleep that I don't want them to be. In the past couple of weeks they've adopted the dining table - on the placemats or on washing I've left there (I'm abit of a slob at times). I just walked out to find this - clean terry nappy, covered in cat. And you can guarantee that he's left his black hairs on that - they can choose what colour they shed to contrast the item they've slept on!

lol thats cute!
My cat likes to sleep on DP's dirty work clothes.. rolls all over them.. dont know why. They are odd creatures.
HAHA!!
I feel your pain - you've seen my house - cat hair on EVERYTHING!!!!
one of ours has 'adopted' a perfectly good car seat we had in storage - so much so that we've now given it to him - it's laid down in the rumpus room window and we won't move it - we figure if we leave that for him, he'll not get in the baby's capsule when it arrives - and if he tries, i can remove him. he also adopted a continental pillow that he has on the floor when the tree isn't up. the other one sleeps anywhere - mostly in the windows though. the first has a bit of a thing for sleeping under the Christmas tree at the moment - frightened the crap outta me when he jumped out the other night - dark room, flashing lights, black cart darting out from under the tree!!!
so far, none of our cats have taken over any of our clothes - though one DID give birth on the kitchen table... ewww...
Our cat is naughty like this but I have taught him! He runs when he sees me now LOL> The kids think its funny to drag the poor thing into my room & watch him run out again as he knows thats the one room I don't like him in. At least the cat remembers!
LOL! We have 5 cats and they sleep anywhere from beds, to washing baskets (with clean washing in them of course!), on top of the fridge and freezer, on top of the television unit, on top of the bookshelf, on the table ... you get the picture! But they are adorable!
My kitty is very considerate - she only seems to leave hair in little mats that are easier to pick up than loose hair. She used to sleep on my head, but thankfully she now considers next to my pillow to be close enough. She's got a spot on a shelf that she cleared for herself by systematically knocking everything else off it... She loves sleeping stretched out behind the flat screen monitor, and occasionally in front of it - but my personal favourite is when she gets sooky and sleeps on me in the free secondhand ring sling I got off Freecycle
Thankfully she has NO interest in the baby hammock or rocker!
Our cat hasn't tried out the washing basket full of clean clothes... yet.
She likes to sleep on doonas or blankets mostly. We have a futon in our spare room with a old doona on it for her.
She also likes to sleep on DS1's bed during the daytime. She's obsessed with his pillows.
Miss Giz doesn't sleep on clothes but she will sleep on my bed if I let her - she used to before - on her daddy's side of the bed but since I've got a new bed and new linen she has been banned from the room (that was also coz she upchucked on it the other day). She is now currently trying to curl up on my lap.
at least she is a dry-food only cat for most of the time so it is usually just dry food & a bit of liquid - unlike the one in the middle of the loungeroom floor (she'd chucked from her tower) which was a lot of liquid, some grass & dry food - she'd just come inside, bolted into the bathroom for a drink (she has a glass on the vanity), then to her bowl and stuffed herself, then jumped on her tower - THEN threw up - at least my place is all tiled so it was easy to clean it up! Which was why she didn't get to share in the pate on toast for breakfast![]()
Aahhh gotta love our furry little friends... Just wondering how you ladies have gone keeping your cats outs of babies beds, playmats etc? My cat is very old and does what he wants to do when he wants to do it (he's past training). Any tips you have for when bubs arrives would be great!
Miss excited - the only way I've found is to close the door! We have a screen door seperating the bedrooms from the rest of the house to keep the cats out (and now DS is a toddler its also great 'cause he can't roam the house when we're asleep.)
Miss excited - I agree, close the door! It's the only way if your cat is beyond training!
Schaz - don't ya just love the grass ones??Hairballs are another common one around here, 3 out of 5 of the are *cough* domestic short hairs who just happen to be part persian!

We keep all the rooms with carpet shut. Our cat has medium length fur so she gets the furball formula dry food regularly. Thankfully she prefers to sleep in the box at the bottom of her scratch post, so all the fur is on that or me when she wants to cuddle. We have cream coloured carpet in the bedrooms and study and cream tiles everywhere else. Cat sick is often dark brown or orange so not good on cream carpet!!
Our handsome boy Boo-Boo (christened 'Eric' but got nicknamed 'Fatty Boom-Bah' and then shortened to 'Boo-Boo' or 'Boomie') has taken to sleeping on the kitchen bench all day - it's the only place in the house that the dog can't snap at him!!
Buddy is an inside/outside cat (ie inside at night, out first thing in the morning) and most of the time he sleeps on a chair on the verandah, or under the car in the driveway.
Paris will sleep anywhere she damn well pleases, but prefers things like DH's dirty work clothes, towels left on the floor, and laundry baskets full of freshly-dried clothes. Oh, and laying all over DD's stuffed toys that she leaves lying around.
Since my last reply, Jerry has claimed the linen cupboard, and all the linen in itThe girls usually can't get to her in there and she can open the sliding doors with her paws.
