    anyone bodyboard when pregnant?

I am thinking I'll probably stop as a precaution, even though bodyboard isn't as dangerous as a hard surfboard...but just wondering if there are any other surfers out there who kept going for a while, in small conditions perhaps?

Until about the 12wks mark the baby is nicely protected by your pelvic bone, so most things are fine to still participate in, but once into your 2nd tri the uterus starts to grow out and above the pelvic bone. If you really want to, then I would keep doing it.

i surfed with DD a few times up until i was about 12 weeks. But only in small steady conditions. (suit me best anyway! ) My OB was fine with it, like 1pj said, most exercise you are used to is fine.
I would have loved to surf this time around, however i just didn't find the time before my belly started popping out and getting uncomfortable...... who am i kidding? between looking after DD and MS i was never going to find the time! lol
I would be comfortable bodyboarding when preg if it was something i normally did and i was comfortable in the conditions i was going out in.
Being in the salt water when preg is lovely. I am jelous, catch a wave for me!

I think body boarding sounds fine if the swell isn't too big and the beach too crowded. I think some people can offer suggestions about what is and isn't ok in terms of exercising. I cycle to work every day and a number of people tell me to stop (in case something unexpected happens eg being hit by a car) but my theory is that these things can happen even when you attempt to avoid every "risky" activity. I think as long as you are careful, many sports are ok. Hope you enjoy the body boarding.
