Just wondering if any of you would have some advice for me. My first (downregulated) IVF cycle was cancelled since I had only 2 follicles and was understimulated - Estrogen never went above 51.
I now had my first period after the cycle and went for my BT (CD2) - FSH came back as 9.7 and Estrogen at 44. Earlier in the year when I did BT and Ultrasound for a baseline (non IVF) I had FSH of 7 and Estrogen of 260 on CD2, the ultrasound a few days later showed between 4 and 8 follicles.
I am now wondering if I should start an antagonist cycle with injections tomorrow or wait another cycle to see if the FSH level is any better then, my FS says I should start, the nurse said they're looking for FSH 10 and lower - which basically means that mine with 9.7 is borderline.
On the one hand I don't want to go through a cancelled cycle again on the other hand I can't afford to waste time as I'll be 40 by mid next year.
Hello, I'm only new here but couldnt help but respond. My FSH levels have been steadily increasing over the last couple of years my last test taken in Sept was at 14 and the egg timer test was really bad also. We started an antagonist cycle in October which resulted in 5 eggs, (only 1 decent follicle showed in the scans), 3 fert & 2 making it to transfer on Day 3. We are now currently expecting 1 little miracle as a result.
So going by my levels It cant hurt to start straight away.. what doses of meds are you on?
Minka thank you so much that is really encouraging. Congratulations to your pregancy and all the best with o your little miracle.
I'll be starting with 300 puregon. In my first cycle I stared with 262 gonal f and then was increased to 375 all with no effect - but since this cycle is antagonist and the first one was downregulated it sounds okay to me.
Hi again, I was on 300 Gonal-f with mine, but from what they explained to me was the aim was to get better quality eggs over quantity and for me it worked, my first cycle was a down reg as well and my embies where poor quality whereas the ones from this cycle where the best grading you could get.
Good luck.. look forward to following your journey.
