Talking Is my baby going to be a GIANT!

Lol, no seriously. She's not quite 5 months, It hought I'd see how she's going (hasnt had her check up yet). She's 8.5kg and 70cm long... And considering I'm 156cm .... she's going to be a GIANT isn't she?!?!?!?!?! She was not even 7kg a month ago!!!!

Is this ok? First time mummy worry here, she's not growing... too fast...? She's off the charts LOL!!!!!!!

Just need some reassurance that shes not going to be on Ripley's

I remember reading somewhere that the world record for a baby who was not quite 5mths old was 8.6kgs, and 71cm long!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hehehe sorry Leasha - only joking! Im sure she won't make Ripleys and that all is fine with her! she is prob just going thru a growth spurt and it will slow down shortly!

Your doing fine as Westy said those charts are only a guide.

My boys have both been off the charts with both weight and height and at 2 years and 3.5 years, they are still off the charts, I`m only small, 55kg and 168cms but DH is 6'3 and 95kg, so they get their size from him.

Don`t worry hun, she`s doing so well.

haha I think its funny that you are worried that yours is a giant and I'm worried that mine is a skinny, undersized midget.. pmsl...

This is how they get their charts - in between yours and mine babe.

Don't worry. She's doing fine. I think DS was around that when he was about 5 months - and DD is nowhere near it - she's not even reached 7kg yet - about 6.7 I think

Once baby starts crawling and especially walking, the weight will slow down so don't worry

Leasha.... yes Mel is addicted to the internet...hahah... now where is my share of that ice cream??

As for Jazz... she might be going to be a model!!! She's gorgy enough She will slow down in growth hun. My godson is 3 wks younger than Oskar and oh boy did he just start growing one day and then was like kilo's heavier and about 10 cms taller than Oskar all of a sudden.... (good for me though, we get all the hand me downs )... he's slowed down a lot now and has slimmed heaps and isn't growing as fast. Some just grow faster than others and earlier than others. You must have some great boobie juice! lol.

Well Leash if it makes you feel better - I just measured Miss M - she is 70cm long too.
Maybe they can be giants together

(mine will obviously be a skinny long thing - she's still only around 6.7kg)

She is just gorgeously healthy. The growth will slow down eventually - it's just not possible for babies to continue growing at the same rate and once they all get to preschool/kinder, they are usually all pretty much average - obviously you will have some that are taller or shorter, but in a group of 20-odd kids there isn't much of a difference. Jazz is just going to be a beautiful tall girl when she's older.

I think she is just amazingly healthy. Like Ozziehoffy said you must have some great Mummy's milk that she is having there

Everyone comments on how chubby my DD is. I think it is just because she is a bit bigger than her twin brother. She has the most lovely chubby cheeks and thighs with loads of rolls, it is so precious. Last time she was weighed she was 8kg (she is a little bit older than Jazz) but I swear if she was a singleton pregnancy I think she would have been a giant, she is catching up for being a twin lol.

    Keep up the great parenting
