Hi everyone,
My son is about to turn one and we are celebrating with a big party. I want to cook him a cake that he can eat and that tastes good but he has some intolerances so I need help with a recipe. The cake can't contain any egg or dairy products. Does anyone have a recipe for a such a cake? I can always make him a 'cake' made of jelly but I thought there must be many other mothers out there who have wanted to do this who may have found an answer!! Thanks for any ideas.
Happy mum to a boy turning 1
When do you need it by? My sister has one as her son is the same and I have recently discovered that my DS is also allergic. It is a delicious chocolate one and I swear no one will be able to tell the difference. She has spent 6 years perfecting it
I too asked her for the reciepe and she only knows if out of her head so we are going to make one before DS birthday as a trail and write it all down.
Hi Tracey,
We had my son's birthday yesterday and I made him the banana muffins as I realised he can't have the tofu from the cheescake recipe. He can only have sheep's milk products (no soy, goats or cow's dairy products). If your sister has a recipe for a sweet type thing that doesn't contain any of those products I would love it if you would share it with me!! I find it hard to give him a varied diet so a nice sweet thng for him occasionally would be great.
Thanks to you and your sister!
Kara
Sorry I took so long, have not checked this thread for a while
Wacky Cake
3 cups self raising flour
2 cup brown sugar
60 gm cocoa
1 tps bicarb soda
2 tps vanilla extract
10 tablespoons oil (I use good quality olive oil)
2 cups cold water.
Put all dry ingredients in a bowl. Mix all wet ingredients separately and then add to dry ingredients. Beat for a few minutes until nice and fluffy. Bake 1 hour at 140 degrees in a fan forced oven, 160 degrees in non fan forced oven; keep an eye on the cake as you don't want the top or edges to burn. Any questions let me know!
