Toilet every hour, but still accidents in between

Started to TT ds1 yesterday (have tried without success a couple of times over the last few months, but decided to commit this time!). He happily wees in the toilet every hour with prompting from me, but he still wees in his undies in between. It seems like there is a fair bit coming out in the toilet, and he squeezes and says it's all gone, so how can there be more 20 minutes later on the carpet?

Also, he just took himself outside, took off his undies and pooed on the bricks. I know this is a separate issue and is quite common for them to hide when pooing, but how do I get him to do it in the toilet - he's happy to wee in there after all...

Does this mean he's not ready yet? He's 3 yrs and 2 months old, and I really want this to work, but he gets distracted by EVERYTHING!

Seriously, it's just perseverance. It took DS1 (who's now five and a half) six days to "get it" at the age of 2 years and 7 months. My DS2 I TTd in five days - he's a month older than your DS. I seriously just recommend perseverance. I did a post in this forum (somewhere) about TT DS2... follow that along, I recorded day by day what he was up to.

Keep it up. One day it will just "click". I swear I was going to give up after Day 2, but I kept going, and he "got it" on Day 4...

Thanks girls. Kellz, he has some come out every hour (or half hour) so it seems pointless to chart it. He just seems to have a lot of wee! He does drink a lot of water through the day though so I spose it's got to go somewhere.

I'll keep trying, if we don't get it right now it will have to wait till Easter so I'm going to persevere till it kills me!
