Ok so seeing as we are TTC #3, i have been thinking lately about using cloth, save a bit of $$'s etc etc (although i do realise it is costly to start with but i believe you do save money in the end?!!).
Anyhow, i have been looking around and now i am TOTALLY CONFUSED!!!!!!!! Dont get all the differnce's between aio's, etc etc
I would like something as close to disposables (i.e i dont wanna fold it lol), but i dont know where to start.
So can someone help me, where do i start????
Any advice, tips etc etc would be greatly appreciated!!!!!
Ok... an AIO (all in one) is a nappy that is water proofed. You can get 2 types, snap ins (which have boosters that snap in and the cover is just the waterproofing, which is good for fast drying) and sewn ins which are just a single thing, like a disposable.
Then there is pockets. They are waterproof with a pocket on the inside so you can add as much boosting as you need for your baby.
Then there is fitteds, these need a cover.
For covers (to make a fitted waterproof) there is PUL covers, Wool covers, woolies (knitted) and fleece.
They are ALL easy, just like a disposable. Once they are washed and dried and put together, I just stack them up ready for a change, then they go on just like a disposable
The ones you fold are flats, and I didn't use these for more than 2 weeks with Ashton The others I mentioned above can be put on like a sposie and do up with snaps or velcro or some (mainly newborn ones) can be done up with a snappy.
Try this THREAD hun. Loads of info - I also found the the Nurture nappies site is great, when you click on each type of nappy it has an explanation of how they work and different examples. Beware you will soon be hooked! We tried our first ones today and I am in love!
