    Maternity Wedding Dress

    Help! Shotgun wedding! 0_0
We're aiming for hopefully end of Feb, if not March and I need a dress. Something simple, but not boring. Does anyone know where I can find a maternity wedding dress for a good price? I've been looking on the Net all night and nothing in Australia has really taken my fancy, but I'd like to know where to head before I start targeting shops randomly.

My mum made mine, it was really pale mauve and had a simple dress with a chiffon overdress and looked really lovely. Do you have anyone who can sew?

    Thanks ladies....
all your suggestions sound good. Because we don't know where and how big the day will be, I'm still unsure whether to just go with a nice evening dress or find a wedding gown.....keep my options open methinks

Just for the record, I thought I'd let everyone know what I ended up getting. I found a beautiful deb dress at Ferrari formal wear for $420. Apart from the fact there's no train on it, it looks like a wedding dress and it's beautifully A-Line which means there's room to grow. Also, it has straps wide enough that I can get away with wearing a maternity bra underneath too! Bonus!! so rapt

Ah, good job finding something you liked!! I was five and a half months pregnant with DD on our wedding day, I just wore a black knee-length cotton dress I got from a local boutique for $50 - it was great because we just had a courthouse ceremony so I didn't need anything too formal and I still get a lot of wear out of it.

For anybody else who reads this thread and needs a bit of help, I read somewhere the other day that Egg Maternity have just/are about to release a small line of maternity wedding dresses, I saw a picture of one and it looked really lovely - white or off-white, with a small train, very simply and flowy and gorgeous. Not sure what their prices are like but it was very pretty.

    Why hide your bump??
There's some lovely empire line type gowns, I think that's what they're called, they basically gather around your bb's and flow out from there, some of them are quite elegant.
Good luck with finding a dress!

    P.S I didn't know typological was a word :giggle:
