I haven't used bicarb but I use corn flour on my DD and she doesn't have a problem with nappy rash and any redness usually clears up quickly
I have hear diluted bicarb in the bath or spray bottle works wonders for Nappy rash?
DD has dreadful blisters on her girly bits (not bottom - they have cleared)
and bepanthen and zinc is not clearing it..
any suggestions?

I've never heard of using bicarb. You can try Hydrozole which is an anti fungal cream or ask at the chemist. If that doesn't work I would take her to see a Dr. DD1 had terrible blisters a while ago and nothing would work. After taking her to the Drs we found it was a staph infection which cleared up quickly when using and antibiotic cream.
has also worked for me when DS#1 had bad rash from teething
