Just wondering if anyone knows when the 50%ccr will go into bank accounts? Last quarter mine went in early November for the period end Sept08!! It was really late!
I'm hoping it goes in soon as we are moving to Hervey bay and could use the extra $$. And do Centrelink have to wait for the daycare to release info or is it just automatically paid??
I belive CC have to send in the info before its paid. I got mine at the end of October, but there was a thread where others were saying when they got theirs and it was over quite a long range of time.
Hi
Director of ccc here - depending on whether the centre is on the new or old system. If they are on the old, they do not report their figures until the first or second week of the following quarter - so yes, centrelink would have to wait till then - that's the only way they have of knowing how much you have paid.
If they are on the new CCMS system, they report their date every week, so there should not be a delay of more than a week in this being processed.
From experience, things move very slowly with centrelink though! I wouldn't get your hopes up with there having been public holidays in that time.
I believe BG posted about this in another thread saying that the payments would probably start on Jan 20. Last time they were paid over a couple of months as they can only process a certain number a day.
It all depends - the new system has been rolled out in specific areas, not necessarily types of centres. If you are in the city, I imagine you probably will be though- did you not get a notice of some sort about the changes?
Mine came on the 4th Nov so I am hoping the next lot comes reasonably early too!!! Poor BG I have been asking her about this new lot since before Christmas LOL
We do have 3 months to lodge, but, I doubt anyone waits that long - the centre is also claiming the amount that the government pays towards your fees at this time as well as submitting families usage. I know my boss always wants it submitted asap!
I'm still new to all this so have NO IDEA how to get all the fancy tickers n what not u have. This is what I found on Centrelink's website...
From the 2008-09 financial year and onwards, payment of the Child Care Tax Rebate will be paid as quarterly payments. 2 weeks after the end of each quarter, payments will commence to be made over a 10 day period, provided details of all your child care usage have been received from your child care provider. Child Care providers legally have up to 3 months to lodge usage from the end of the quarter. If usage is outstanding at this time, payment of the Child Care Tax Rebate will be made once all usage is received. This is to ensure only 1 payment of the Child Care Tax Rebate is received per quarter, rather than many smaller payments being received.
if you have your child in a goverment approved child care centre and qulaify for child care benefit, even at a nil rate, you MAY qualify for the child care rebate
you have to meet certain criteria - both yourself and your partner need to meet the work study training test - so you either have to be working, studying, training, looking for work, on mat leave (with a date to return), or have or be caring for a person with a disability
