Holiday House Swap - Anyone Done It???

Bit obsessed with planning our next holiday and DP and I are quite taken with the idea of doing a house swap - possibly NZ or could be within Aus.

There's plenty of sites out there, just wondering if anyone else has done it and what your experiences were?

My grandparents did a few years ago now, about 5 I think it was.
Anyway, they found a couple of similar age and circumstance in Queensland and swapped with their flat for 2 weeks.
They loved it! Couldnt ever speak highly enough of it. They got to stay where they wanted in real house with little cost other then wheat they would normally have at home anyway.
They wrote up house manuals for each other about how to use the ovens or the backdoor sticks, ou know that sort of thing.
My GF has since died, and it turns out this was actually their last holiday, so it was good. I think my grandmother still keeps in contact with them too. She see them when she goes up for his birthday every year.

Id love to do it one day, I say go for it! If you can handle the thought of someone else in your house... *shiver* dont know if I could! lol

Friends of mine do this all the time AND LOVE IT and have made some brilliant friends out of it.

Totally recommend it!

I would LOVE to do it one day - preferably once we've built our new house, I'd be a bit embarrassed to have people staying in this one I'd do it for someone I know from BB, but I probably wouldn't use a website, coz you have no idea whose gonna be coming in, KWIM?
