Baby bottles in the dishwasher? Bad idea?

Hello!

Does anyone have any views on washing the bottles in the dishwasher?
It does say on the Avent packs that they are dishwasher safe but what do you all think?
Does anyone else do it? Some how I've gotten into a routine that sees me washing bottles at ten or eleven at night and Im thinking the dishwasher might be a better option. Is it safe do you think?

I don't have one, but i know my SIL does hers in the dishwasher

I have always done ours in the dishwasher! I rinse them as soon as i am finished with them and then just chuck them in! I have a feeling that when #2 was little little i was hand washing and sterilising though. I now even put the dummies in every morning!

We prefered the dishwasher to the steriliser thing. Much prefered! We did it with our washing up too LOL. And as bottles are only sterile for three minutes post-sterilisation anyway it doesn't make much difference so long as they're clean.

Yep!! Dishwasher them!! I did and it was magic. Our dish washer gets so hot on the drying cycle that I am sure it was sterilising anyway.

The one thing I did make sure I did though was ensure the dish washer is clean - no gunk in the filters etc. Can't expect a dirty dishwasher to clean dishes.
