Just a reminder to all: all LTers love seeing a fellow LTer achieve that longed-for BFP, and we all find hope in one of our own having success in this difficult journey. But please remember that there are those who cycled with you who may not have received good news at the end of their cycle. Please do not post baby/child/pg tickers or pg related signatures (eg blinking BFP icons) etc in this forum out of respect for them.
As it's easy to forget to remove your ticker, please be advised that we will remove it for you if it's posted in here. Just easier, is all.
Sara - hiya You know that "it only take's one" slogan - just remember Megsmum is our age, only one egg at EPU and is now more that 10 wks PG! It is very stressful. Will for you over the next couple of days. Keep up the sweet potato soup and the accupuncture because you are still in with a great chance! xx
AFM - Day 3 FSH. The Gonal-F pen is so much simpler than the Puregon pen - feel like I must be missing one of the steps! AF already seems to have left the building so pretty happy about that.
Hoping this new thread rains lots of positivity and baby dust on us all!
Hi WTH, Thanks for your reply - you're right the Gonal Pen is much simples and also thought it does not hurt as much so pretty sure you're doing everything right - when do you have your first BT?
AFM Feeling a bit better after very depressed this morning, basically what it means is that only one is left so don't think my chances are very good.
It's also such a feeling of being completely out of control, if I only could I'd sit in the lab and check on them every 10 minutes or so or hold them with a hot water bottle close to my belly to keep them warm.
... sounds like I am going a bit crazy here oops....
Sara,
There is nothing you can do that will help your embies at this stage. They are being well looked after though! And one or 2 may make it yet...
So please look after you.
Also - one big thing that has happened this time is that your FS has worked out how to get workable eggs out of you. That's a huge step in the right direction, though it may not feel like much at the moment.
Trying to do everything to distract me - even going to the 20/20 cricket tonight and have decided to be naughty and have one beer since that may help with sleeping and therefore can be considered medicine
We have a sticky thread on immunology testing in the LTAC area that members have added too over the last few years but it has been dormant for a while. There is some interesting information in there that may be of use for you.
Also if you were able to take the time, it would be valuable for other members to have the information you may have gained from your own investigations included in this thread which wont disappear when these fast chat threads end.
I will also bump it to see if we can added valuable learnings for us all.
Sara - Oh hang on little embies, please hang on! I really feel for you sara. This time is sooooo stressful. I found the "knowing" what all the embies were doing really tough. The TWW in an IUI cycle was much easier as there was nothing to know. Just prayeres that something was growing. But now your babies are out there and you can "watch" them but sadly, it IS out of your control what they do from here on. Hoping that one strong one is "normal" and does make it all the way, be kinf to yourself these next few days. I won't tell you not to stress cos I know you will... as would I!
WTH - days 3 already. YOu will be at EPU before you know it. BT tomorrow? Hope things are on track
CP - where are you at girl? Hope all ok
Kel - Are you starting FSH tonight? Thats when the exciting part really begins
AFM - ho hum, the days are dragging. Feels like AF is going to do the right thing and arrive tomorrow. Sure feels like it anway so hope she does what i ask for once!
Dusty - I am so so sorry. I only just noticed your sig.I did not know you had lost your precious bubba. After so much hard work and heartache, I am lost as to why this should happen to someone so deserving. This world is so darn cruel! I hope you and your DH can have some joy in 2009.
Sorry guys 1st day back to work and didn't even get a chance to check anything!
Sara, take care hun. This is the toughest part, now with all the physical stuff is left behind, there is absolute no distraction from the emotional stress. I am glad you are finding things to do, seeing you even going to cricket, I know you are trying hard hun! Relax and let nature take its course, you might be pleasantly surprised!
Meredith, I hope AF will knock on your door soon...they love to play games with us isn't it?
WTH, you little quiet achiever, already hitting Day3, isn't that funny when you see others always seem time flies fast but when it is for yourself, what a drag!
AFM, I will be cheering on the sideline for you guys, Sara first, then WTH and Meredith & Kel. I am on my CD23, praying AF will arrive a few days late, so my TF will be sometime after 5th Feb.
Cuddlepie: Hope everything is going to plan for you.
Kel: Good luck for cycle start.
Buliej: Hope you're doing well.
Kmn
Thank you so much for your support, it means so much! And I know that you girls know exactly what I feel.
Can you just reassure me that my physical signs at the moment are normal and actually a good thing although uncomfortable? I have a tiny bit of spotting, my ovaries feel really swollen and I am badly constipated (Sorry for TMI). This all happened after I took the massive does of Pregnyl on Sunday night, before that I was feeling better after EPU.
BTW; I didn't have the beer at the cricket yesterday but was still naughty as I had a hot dog and crisps
A great day to everyone, I have acupuncture tonight really looking forward to it.
Meredith: I started the FSH yesterday morning, second dose today. The needles don't bother me so much, but the Synarel has made me so thirsty and is starting to give me headaches. Mind you, if that's the worst to date, I'm not going to whinge about it!
Sara: Hang in there!
Hi everyone else! I only got back to work yesterday and it's chaos here!
Sara, the spotting after EPU is completely normal. I won't go into why in case you are blissfully ignorant of what actually happens during the procedure and would prefer to remain that way - I know I wished I could have when I found out (sadly before my first one!). As for the constipation - perfectly normal with pregnyl in your system, and completely normal during pregnancy as well. Your ovaries are likely feeling a little swollen because of what they do during EPU - they won't just be attacking the follicles that are likely to have eggs, I believe they go for all of them, even if they are under-sized, so they have been through quite a bit! And you can probably begin to understand a little of why I spent a week in hospital after having 32 eggs collected! Don't be jealous of the egg numbers - they were all crap! Hang in there... Hoping your embryos go well in the next few days and you get to ET this cycle.
Just a quick one, Sara, just want to reassure you that Pregnyl can do funny things to your body, so don't worry. I had a few days cramps after pregnyl shot which I never had it in my last two cycles where no pregnyl was used. I even called emergency nurse and she assured me that they are normal. She also said some people can get spotting after that. About the feel of swollen Ovaries, did your FS tell you the level of estrogen? It should start to go down now after EPU. Drink lots of water to keep OHSS at bay....take care hun!
BW - Nice to hear from you, wanted to congratulate to the arrival of you little bub. And yes, I found out about it, thankfully a day later, during the procedure I was asleep and blissfully ignorant.
CP: Thanks for your response, have now talked to the nurse again and it sounds like it's normal, also asked about my FSH and she said it was just over 7000 on Jan 7 (I only had one more puregon shot after that)
Thanks, Sara. If you know what happens during EPU, it should all make sense - I often had a bit of spotting for a few days afterwards. I was a little freaked after the first one when the hospital gave me a maternity pad, but it was nothing a liner couldn't cope with! Your E2 levels seem quite good, I don't think you're at risk of developing OHSS, but resting and keeping fluids up certainly won't hurt. You'll more than likely feel heaps better by the time you get to ET.
I have been lurking in the background over the past few weeks, trying to focus on other things then our up coming test results and what we might be told.
Am so annoyed with a lady at work who is 7 weeks pregnant, she is still smoking. It is taking all my strength not to slap her and tell her that what she has is a gift and previlidge, not a right. How stupid can some people be?
Sara - you have all my prayers for your embies
Kel - Hi and welcome. I tried IVF with PGD as I had a 30 week termination as my son had x-linked hydrocephalus. Currently waiting for DNA results to come back from France to confirm if it was genetic or just a really bad accident.
Lisa - welcome back. Hope you had a good Chrissy break. That woman at your work is an undeserving cow. Makes me soooooooooooooooo mad! When do you get your test results back?
Sara - I was humongously constipated after EPU - to the point I could not walk! Yet I did not even spot. Everybody reacts differently, I s'pose. Wishing you all the best for your Day 5 result tomorrow and potential transfer
BW - congratulations Can't believe you are finding time ATM to get on line. Hope you are getting some sleep
Cuddlepie - Hope AF fits in nicely with your busy February schedule. A tip? Are you taking B6 - it can help lengthen your luteal phase.
Kel - hey cycle jabbing buddie. We are just two days apart. Hope the headaches ease up on you.
Meredith - is AF here??????????????????? Hope it arrives spot on time so you can get jabbing with Kel and I
Dusty - I did not realise, either. So truly sorry . I know you must be crushed. Thanks for taking time out for us in these very difficult days.
AFM - Day 4 FSH tonight. BT = 288. On par with last cycle which was 303 on the same morning. I have read that Gonal-F is not as strong as Puregon, so maybe that makes up for the tiny difference. Next BT Thursday and maybe US on Friday
Welcome back Lisa, hanging out for the result and I hope its just a bad accident and you have a clear road ahead of you...
WTH, you are such a fountain of knowledge, I love it...I am acutally taking B group vitamins but not particularly B6, I am tempted to try! Thanks hunny! Glad to hear that Bt result shows everything is on track....
