Does your mucus change at ovulaton in your egg has been fertilised?

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and am on the 2 week wait...... Fingers crossed! We have been TTC for 4 cycles now and I have only been plotting my temp and CM on this one.

I think I ovulated yesterday, I had egg white CM and a drop in temp and today I had a .6 degree rise in temp so all the signs are there. My question is "if your egg is fertilised by the sperm would you have less egg white CM"? Because I had much less egg white CM than in other months.

I am also wanting to know your thoughts on having intercourse on the 2 days prior to ovulation as opposed to on the day of ovulation.
