6 week old baby suddenly screaming crying

hi all

i have a six week old baby daughter.. just the last couple of days i've noticed that her cry is different.. she screams/cries all of a sudden when she wakes.. when she's getting changed.. when she doesn't like something.. there are some content times..

sometimes when i breastfeed her she will latch on, suck for a couple of minutes.. She'll go all red when she is sucking, pull the nipple and start crying. She'll still be hungry so she'll latch on again and the same thing will happen..
Just wondering how can i tell if its due to hunger? she seems to be sleeping all the time.. am i producing enough milk..

She also possetts milky mucassy stuff..

e give her formula at night sometimes - she'll probably take in about 30mls..

any help would be great..

Sounds like she's having her 6 week growth spurt?? Most bubs get super cranky and fussy during a growth spurt... i know mine did! My DS2 just had his 12 week growth spurt and he was very grizzly and slept heaps (most of the day really).

As for the breastfeeding thing, could it be gas? I know DS does what you described when he has gas and once he lets rip he settles down. Also DS does that when he's really tired as well so when he started doing that during a breastfeed i usually pop him into bed because i know he's ready for a nap.

Ds possetts every now and then as well, some babies just do. As far as i know its pretty normal.

Apparently 6 weeks is the peak for newborn fussiness and then things seem to get better after that.. DS was a shocker at 6 weeks but he's nice and easy to settle now (until the next milestone ) Hang in there, it does get better. I was soooo ready to pull my hair out a few weeks back (rang Dh in tears a few time begging him to come home before i strangled our boys ) but in just a few weeks DS has gone from devil to angel!

I think it sounds like it could be reflux... but I havent had a reflux baby so I cant really help hun... sorry
I dont think it would be a prob with your milk, but sometimes they can get fussy if it doesnt let down fast enough - maybe try her on the other side if she fusses at one?
I hope someone has some good advice for you - hang in there, youre doing a good job
