    sling help please?

i love my HAB, but it is not always practicle..... i dont like it falling to the floor to put in on when getting out of the car, and the on/off regime isnt always the best!

i am looking for a quick on/off "shell" sling (i think).... i want to be able to cradle her quickly and have my hands free (well free ish, i understand they wont be as free as the hab)

looking on line the peanut shell, bubzilla and singalong look like the kind of thing i am after, but i dont want to spend too much.........

    please help, any reviews etc?

i would also like to gt a meitei later, but for now (right now!!) am looking at the cradle carry.....

good luck Are you good with a sewing machine? If you are you could make one yourself easy! Just with a tie and not a ring.

I don't have one except the one I made at home out of a pashmere shawl lol I have a MT, ergo and 4 wraps and I must say the MT is the most used here. That and the leo storch.

I personally think its best to take Matisse into the shop with you and try the different ones on to see what work for both of you. I have a peanut shell sling and an ergo. I thought i would use the peanut more but Byron doesnt really like it in there, i think he feels to closed in. We use it while he is asleep and it is quick and easy but in saying that so is the ergo and i tend to use the ergo more often as he can look around when he is awake.

    thanks ladies

i cant sew, would love to learn but if i tried to make something it would probably contain finger bits!

Might go down to the baby shop today - its just annoying that one store has this one, another store has that one.... and i need the sling to get from one to the other!

Anyone know of any that are UNDER the common $70-$80 price range?

Nope, only if you get them made by someone who does a copy, or on ebay. I just won an auction for a bubzilla sling and got it for $45, there are a few on there..

Hon - if you're thinking of an adjustable sling (bubba moes are a buckle sling) rather than a pouch (eg: peanut shell), google 'bear hug baby' slings. They are an Australian made ring sling, well made, very comfy, and they are about $50 from memory. Wildslings are another Aus wahm made ring sling, they are on ozebaby. You could always find out about customs if they don't have any listed.

Personally I don't recommend the bubba moes, (I have posted in here a few times about them so do a search if you want to know why - don't have time to copy and paste right now ), but if you do consider one, definitely try before you buy. They are not as adjustable as a ring sling so do not suit all shapes and sizes.

The tail's really useful for covering up when feeding or asleep, I tend to tuck it under E's bum or wrap it around the rings otherwise. I'm not huge on really long tails, the sling I have has a shorter tail which comes to my hip. A ring sling does take marginally longer to put on compared to a pouch, but unlike a pouch is adjustable and does not need to be sized to the wearer.

I much prefer my Bubzilla to my Bubba Moe. DH uses the BM because it fits him, but I am too small. I plan on buying a peanut shell as well so that I can have 1 sling in the wash when they are in full time use as I know there will be spew and poo occasionally.

Rayray - there are oodles of clips on youtube!! Google 'threading a ring sling' and 'wearing a ring sling' and you will get stacks of stuff. The zolowear tute is good, Jan Andreas' site is great, and the sakura bloom tutes are good too!

LOL - better late than never, right? Now you can get plenty of practice before your new bubba arrives.

i bought the smal - and it still hangs well below my belly and hurts my shoulder, do you think i need a smaller size?

i dont know if i likeit, the hab is so much more comfy!

whats the main difference between a peanut shell and bubzilla?

its all good to try them on in the shop, but i think you really needto have a good half hour in them before you know if they suit you!

    do mei tei suit infants?
