Question Sunshine Coast Weather in March/April ?? .. What things to do there with a 3yr old ??

    Hi all,

We are very soon wanting to plan a holiday on the Sunshine Coast for about 7nights during either March or April but are unsure as to what the weather is like during these months ... eg, is there rain ? ... and what is the approx temperature & What clothes to pack ?

Also our DD will be almost 3 years of age at that time & are hoping for any suggestions as to what we can do together as a family there ??

Any suggestions as to what areas on the Sunshine Coast to stay ??? ... And any recommendations of places of accommodation would be greatly appreciated ????

    Many thanks for any replies

    Cheers from Lorelle xox

If you come off season - ie NOT easter... prices are comparable to other areas on the sunshine coast. As Mel suggested, Underwater World in Mooloolaba and Australia Zoo in Beerwah are great places to take an almost 3 yo.

Will you be hiring a car? the sunshine coast is spread out over a wide area, and public transport is pretty ordinary up here.

The time of year is goreous, I love Autumn. The humidity is all but gone. Being from Vic, you will find the weather wonderful... me, I would be carrying around a light long sleeve shirt or jumper for the evening.

Well done for your holiday choice - its the best place in the world for a holiday - not that I'm bais or anything

    Thanks heaps gals

I have stayed Gold Coast a few times over the years (last time being about 13years ago BUT not interested to stay there again) ... and DP & i stayed further up the coast in Mooloolaba (before DD was here) about 4-5years ago

Then Australia Zoo was opened but not finished ... so yeh, reckon we will go back as DD would love it

I'm not familiar with WaterWorld is that something new ??

Can anyone suggest somewhere different to stay then Mooloolaba (even though we liked it there ... we would like somewhere new to experience that's just as lovely or even better ???

Any more ideas on what to do on the Sunshine Coast with a nearly 3year old ??? PLEASE KEEP 'EM COMING !!!!!!

So, far it's looking like we might be coming up in the 1st week in April (hopefully for 7nights)

Hey MEL, see how our plans go (if we have enough time) ... and if your *GOOD* i might just fit you in to catch up AND any other BB members that might be interested

Cheers for now, ... big hugs from Lorelle (who desperately needs a darn holiday) xox

P.S - I forgot to mention before been to Noosa ... nah, not a fan !!

Underwater World is an aquarium - I've haven't been there myself (I've lived here 9 years and keep meaning to go and check it out)

To stay - when I was a kid (too long ago) we stayed at Alexandra Headlands, Cotton Tree and Maroochydore and they were all good. I'd suggest not going to Coolum this year (even though I live here) 'cause they're about to knock a block of shops down and re-build.

    Wink

    Thanks for the tip Snowy

... Yeah, no plans to the Gold Coast for many years as been there done that i guess that's why we thought Sunshine Coast ... we would have LOVED to go to Cairns or somewhere much further Nth but the airfares that we are getting are so dirt cheap$$ and the flights only go as far up as Mackay with this fares special$$ !!

Meant to mention before have visited Noosa (looks like Toorak rd in Melb) ... have to admit 'we' weren't a fan

KEEP THE IDEAS COMING PEOPLE as we want lots to do

theres the train ride and the boat ride (carnival ride) where you float on a little boat and look for the ginger bread man in different country themes we loved it and cause it was quiet time of year she let us go thru 2 times was $12 each for jase and I and jack was free, he loved the little train ride mainly for the noise than anything else...

Just an update ladies ... Our airfares are booked & we ended up on deciding to fly to the Sunshine Coast in Sept (gave us more time to save for spending money )

... So, we are arriving * September 9th * and staying for 9nights

When it gets closer to Sept and i have worked out if DP, DD (who will be nearly 3 & a bit by then) & i have time whilst there - maybe some of you lovely BB ladies (and maybe Dad's too) would like to meet up seeing we are coming all the way from Ballarat, Victoria

Cheers for now, chat later ... from Lorelle, Adam & Miss C xox

P.S - Still haven't decided where we are staying for accommodation !!? ... We are open to more suggestions anyone
