Same here. Have some antiseptic for the toilet and use Enjo type products for surfaces. Haven't used cleaning products in years and saved heaps of money too!

I've mixed a general purpose cleaner (works in a similar way to spray & wipe type products. 1 part water, 1 part white vinegar. Mix in a spray bottle. Good for general cleaning on things like benchtops, lightly soiled stove tops etc. I have a book with a few natural cleaning recipes in it if anyone would like me to post some more.

I make up my own cleaning stuff, the only commercial product I use is the Earth Choice toilet cleaner (and I only use it occasionally - I just use a bit of vinegar otherwise). I have two 250ml spray bottles, one has one tablespoon of bi-carb, one tablespoon of vinegar (I quarter fill the bottle with water and then add the vinegar and bicarb - which react/oxidise and foam up like crazy, which is why I don't fill the bottle up first), then I fill the bottle of water and add a little lemon essential oil. It's a great general purpose cleaner, good for polishing sinks etc, and is also a good degreaser.

In the other bottle I have boiled cooled water mixed with a few drops of tea-tree and eucalyptus, I use it as a general purpose surface spray/sanitiser.

When I mop the floors I use one of the sabco mops with a couple of drops of eucalyptus or tea-tree oil on the mop head, and pour a little boiling water from the kettle directly onto the floor - just enough to lightly wet the mop head.

I also use one of the cheapy bathroom gloves (like the Enjo ones but about $5) and a brush on the tiles, with bi-carb on the grout (I have it in a powder bottle and just sprinkle it straight on, with a bit of water to make a paste).

You could do all this without the oils if you are also sensitive to oils (this is sometimes the case, natural doesn't always equal non-irritant). But if you are not, next time you guys are over I can give you some lemon, eucalyptus and tea-tree oils if you want - I have heaps, and a little bit lasts for yonks!

Also add in some lemon juice for a nice smell.I find Vanilla is also pretty good for things like the bathroom or fridge.

This is the recipe for the all purpose cleaner I make, it winds up costing roughly 50 cents per 750ml bottle I make up.

    All Purpose Cleaner

1 1/2 tsp Washing Soda (Lectric Soda found in the cleaning aisle of the supermarket)

A squirt of liquid soap (preferably phosphate free)

    750ml Hot water

I added a few drops of Grapefruit scented oil to get a fresh smell

Mix together until the washing soda dissolves and spray and wipe!!!

I get really good results using this cleaner even on stainless steel appliances. I just buff them after cleaning.
