Cheap fun activities for school holidays?

Hi all I m just wondering what things you do with your children in the school holidays

My kids still have 3 weeks left of holidays and Im after some fun things to do that wont cost the earth.

-beach
-park/ bushwalk (when its not as hot)
-get some paints from the reject shop so the kids can paint
-organise play dates at othe peoples house and return the favour
-cooking cakes or decorating biscuits with icing sugar and sweets

Cant think of anything else at the moment but hope that helps.
