Waiting until in bed to poo

    Hi girls,

DD is 18 months and this week has started waiting until she's put to bed for her day sleep to do a poo. She then won't go to sleep and continues to chatter away. It's getting quite annoying because her day sleeps are being ruined! I don't think it will make much difference waiting to put her down later, because she now only seems to feel comfortable doing a poo when she's in her bed.

We've also tried telling her to do a poo before she goes down, but she just copies our grunty noises and thinks it's funny!

MIL thinks she's ready for toilet training- but I'm not ready for that all just yet.

Any thoughts on how to resolve this?

DS is 2 and more times than not does this too. I just put him in bed, then check in on him about 1/2 hr later and change him if I have to.

It's just about a sure thing with DD. If Liv is calling out she has done a poo. We change her in her room and then pop her straight back into bed. She eventually falls asleep. It's just her way of trying to get up and being allowed to play. Cheeky munchkins. Good luck.

Good to hear it's not just DD. The problem is that when I put her back down after changing her, that's it, no going back to sleep - just a lot more chatter and playing. She's even said "finished sleep" when her nappy's being changed.
