    Stinky washing machine

Hubby and I have been renovating our laundry and so our washing machine has been sitting outside in the sun for 5 days while painting, putting in lino etc. Now we've got it back in, it STINKS - I think from old water sitting in the bottom. I've run through a rinse and then washed clothes (which now stink themselves!) and it still smells bad in there, so there's no point trying to re-wash the clothes. Any ideas as to what I can do that's safe for my machine that will de-stink it?

    THANKS!

Try running the a hot wash cycle with an empty machine, and once it fills up with water open the lid and add 2 cupd of white vinegar, then let it run the rest of the cycle. Works like a charm

1 cup of vinegar and hot water (half water should be fine), run the full load.
