dry all day before going out?

Hi all - I really want to go to a cafe today to meet some GFs - problem is Flynn is in the midst of TT. Yesterday he did poo and wee on the loo after asking to go (only 2nd time he's managed this) but as often as not he has accidents. We have only been serously TT for a week.

Question is - didmost people wait for a completely dry day before venturing? Or should I chance it? We will be sitting outside on a deck near a park but the toilets are about 20 metres or so from where we will be sitting.......

    Damn TT!!!

ETA : We are doing the straight-to-undies method and not using pull ups

I'd give it a go. There's always a tree. And you have to start going out someday....

hi Rory - way to go Flynn!

we are tt Will - since boxing day and we have just gone for it! we have had a few accidents but i just take a couple of changes of clothes with me each time - i do also take the potty with me as he doesn't like toilets yet and although that may seem ott it's a saviour at someones house or in a shopping centre to be able to go into the loos and put it on the floor and he will get on it. If we're at friends houses then i take his bottom half off so he's nudie and have tht potty somewhere where he knows it is - most friends won't mind this - my poor friend didn't mind and will repaid her by pooing on her carpet - i was totally mortifoed but she said she didn't mind and i cleaned it up (thanksfully solid!) so all good.
good luck - hope you manage to get out and about a bit

we're not at this stage yet, but i have bought "going out" trainers for this purpose.

they look like a nappycover, have hidden waterproofing and some absorbency inside.

so not as absorbent as a nappy
much more absorbent than a pair of knickers.

machine washable, so you use them over and over (more economical than pullups).

i also bought a "piddle pad" for the car seat.
