it is DD's first birthday in 4 months and i woudl liek to start getting some ideas for her present/s but i have no idea.
what did u get ur bubs for their first birthday.
for our fam 1st birthdays r a big thing.
LMK: big bed is usually wat mum and dad buy the grandkids for their first birthday but we already ahve a bed here and i dont see the point of chucking it so they can buy a new one lol.
Books, books, books! There are so many FABULOUS ones out there.
What about some climbing equipment? (If you have the space.) You can get some really cool ones with a slide attached - look out for specials, esp on eBay. (Though the re-sale value on those things is pretty good anyway )
Or a rocking horse.
Perhaps a play-kitchen? Or maybe that's a bit too old... Probably depends on the kid.
Ummm... A baby doll and accessories?
I don't know how 'girly' your DD is, but my DD is IN LOVE with Thomas the Tank Engine. There are some cute trucks and trains out there too.
HTH a little!
Best thing we bought was a flip-out sofa if you don't already have one. Ours gets used everyday. Art supplies, puzzles, blocks, bath toys. I also second the books and climbing/slides.
Flip-out sofa is on our list.
As well as a lot of books. We will prob get a lot of stuff we wanted to get her for chrissy but because we didnt have the room were unable to.
My parents bought DD#3 for her 1st birthday a gift voucher for shoes and sox (a small peoples shoe store). The shoes there are a little more expensive than most. But i thought it was nice that mum and dad bought her (or contributed) to her very, very, very first pair of real shoes........
My DD's 1st birthday is in March. I think we are going to get her some In the Night Garden things because she LOVES that show. I saw some giant iggle piggle, upsy daisy and macca pacca pillow toys that I really want to get her (only one though coz they are about $30).
yeah the one thing i did want to get was a climbing thing with slide. the only thing is i cant have it in the main yard cuase of daycare so i might have to put it up the back, in that case ill have to get some foam/rubber squares to put under it cause it is on bricks.
i want to get a braclet that i can get her a charm each birthday and when he is 12 or 16 she can have it then.
it sux cause the big toy sales r always on in july.
The bracelet is a great idea and I've been thinking about that also, but DD wouldn't get it, or even know about it until either her 18th, 21st or her wedding day.
We got DD a little pink Brio race car, a wooden shape sorter, and a wooden farmyard jigsaw puzzle (with handles type one). Then we also got her swimming things- bathers, hooded towel etc. She had plenty of baby jewellery and the Peter Rabbit Wedgwood set from other occasions, otherwise would have got these. We concentrated on getting her things that she can use/play with now rather than keepsakes although I do love the idea of them down the track with the "I got this for my 1st birthday". Special books are also really nice.
We're getting Juliette a Fisher Price Stroll Along Walker which is a push along walker that looks like a pram Other than that I'm a bit stumped because there are so many of Zander's things that she can play with.
Ah, you know what else is good? The Early Learning Centre stacking cups! DD has enjoyed playing with hers since she was given them last Christmas. She plays with them in the bath (as they have little holes in the bottom so the water runs through), and when we went to the beach she played with them in the sand. They are super! (And only cost about $20.)
