What do i need to know about a mei tai for a young baby?

After going back and forwards i am now thinking a mei tai is what i need.
We have an ergo but i want something for putting on around home so i can put washing out and type on BB with 2 hands etc. Baby often only settles when i hold him upright belly to belly too, so im hoping the mei tei will work for that also.
I know a pouch is probably best suited to what i want it for, but as they need to be size specific and im currently bigger than what i know i will be a few mths from now. i actually have a bubzilla but its sz S, and for now im more a sz M, I dont want to buy another just for a few mths...

Is it quick and easy to put on?
can you stick it in your handbag easy?
How long do they stay in that upright inward posisition for?
What else do i need to know for using a mei tai for newborn (ds is 3 wk today ).
I want something i can order and get quick...so will buy something available in aus. Any suggestions?

Is it quick and easy to put on? Pretty quick and easy, the first few times lie bub on the bed and do it there, or practice with a doll/bear so you know what you're doing.
can you stick it in your handbag easy? Depends how big your handbag is. Mine doesn't fit in my handbag, but I don't use a handbag with kids, I use a nappy bag. Usually I just keep a carrier in the boot.
How long do they stay in that upright inward posisition for? However long you need them to?
What else do i need to know for using a mei tai for newborn? Youtube is helpful with baby carriers, they have tutorials you can follow for different types of carriers. If things don't feel right, take a pic or two, then post on BB and we'll be able to tell you what you can adjust to make things more comfy.

One of my Mei Tais is a BabyHawk, which I got from Wrigglebots. It's a store owned by one of our members, Melbel69.

Oh, and CONGRATULATIONS on your new bubba!!
