    This is odd, right?

My friend's cousin is pregnant and as I'm pregnant too, my friend has always kept me up to date with what's going on with her cousin (I've never met her). She was due 4th January, so I always thought, "Oh yes, she'll have her baby about a month before me". Then, some time in December her due date was changed to January 12th. That wasn't so strange - it's easy enough to be off by a week or so. The 12th came and went, then the 17th came and went, then yesterday (24th - two weeks overdue) came and went and still nothing. I asked my friend about her, and she said that if her cousin didn't go into labour before 26th, they were going to induce her. Fair enough.

But last night, I was at my friend's house and her mum was on the phone. We could overhear bits of conversation, and could tell that they were talking about this cousin. Now (this is where it gets odd)... she is due 27th February!!!

I'm just finding it really difficult to work out how she and the doctors (she's had scans and check-ups all the way through of course), could have got it so wrong? I can understand a couple of weeks, maybe even a month... but almost TWO months from the original EDD to to the 27th Feb? This is odd, right?

SOunds very odd to me. Do you think someone passing on the info to you has mixed up months and dates?

Sounds very odd indeed. Could it be that her cycle is irregular so she wasn't pregnant as early as she thought she was. Either that or the info has been mixed up.

I've never heard of a baby even being 43 weeks.

Pretty sure the info was always correct, but anything's possible I suppose.

Really strange - their whole family has been left scratching their heads!

Is she single? maybe she was telling fibs because of the father?

Well, she wasn't in a long-term relationship - I think she'd only really just met the guy. I don't know the cousin at all, so I don't really know what could have happened. Something strange is certainly going on though!

i have heard of women going to 43 weeks...but it rarely happens now due to the known risks/better ability to track growth/dateing scans

that is very much a head spinner!...we need to involve NASA now...the question is...WILL SHE GO OVER? ...
