what age for pillow?

Was just wondering at what age do they say its 'ok' for bub to use a pillow? Whenever DD comes into our bed, she loves cuddling into the pillow and she also cuddles into the cushions on the couch, but is she too young for a pillow in her cot? She is almost 15 months

We gave ours pillows when they went into their own bed (2 1/2 ish) and then quite flat ones.

I didn't give DS a junior pillow until he was 2, but I know of others that have given their bubs pillows at 12 months.

I have Claire a pillow when she was about 15 months I think. She loves it. Its just a really flat one. She has slept better since having it.

DD got one when she went into a bed at 16 months - just a junior pillow which is smaller and flatter than an adult one. You can get them at Kmart, Target etc - Tontine make them.

DS got a pillow just before his second birthday, he was still in the cot and a few days after he got it he started to sleep through the night...could be coincidence but after two years of sleep dramas with him I was pretty impressed.

I gave my DS a pillow just after 12 months because he used to roll all around the cot, bang into the sides etc. since having a pillow in there he sleeps in pretty much the same spot most nights (ie when we go in to him in the morning he has not rolled down to the wrong end of the cot). I just bough a junior pillow fro spotlight

i bought quite a flat pillow from babyco. our DD has had one since she was 11 months old, she loves it and sleeps better with one. i do have an angelcare monitor though, just in case.

DS uses one on and off. We just have a normal pillow next to his bed and he decides whether he wants it or not. It was actually there for us to rest against when we sit beside him to get him off to sleep... then one night he wanted it for himself..lol

So .. nearly 2 I think he was when he pinched it from us..lol

I think I recall reading somewhere that the recommendation is 12 months. We gave DD one before that (although I can't remember exactly how old, perhaps 10 months?) because she was a horrid sleeper and loved being on our pillows in our bed. She slept a lot better after that.
