We have been using terry flats which I think are fine but DH can't fold them properly and refuses to change nappies now. So he has given me the green light to get enough MCN for full time .
HOWEVER which brand?? There are sooo many! Can you please tell me which ones you love and why?
I'm thinking an AIO as they would be easier for DH
I have mainly got Itti Bitti's and Baby Beehinds and I love them both.
Itti's are fantastic - great under clothes - nice trim fit and so far have never had any leaks. They come in two versions - (I don't know how to explain this well) a sewn in - which is basically your nappy with a booster sewn into (very easy and husband proof) or a snap in where you 'snap in' the boosters. They are good as the drying time seems to be cut down rather than a 'standard' AIO where the boosters are inside the nappy. The snap in version you can buy extra boosters as the shell of the nappy dries super quick so you can use it rather than waiting for your boosters to dry.
I love my Baby Beehinds but some people can find them quite bulky under clothes. You can still get the old version which is a standard AIO, and now there is the new version which comes with a pocket to put boosters in (you get a booster with the nappy) so you can adjust it depending on how heavy your bubba wets. I find them fantastic for DS's daytime sleeps.
My only other AIO that I have is Mini Lala but it takes ages to dry although it is a gorgeous looking nappy.
Kirst, the bitti boos are fitted nappies, whereas the Bitti D'Lish are the AIO's and AI2's.
Peapods have mixed reviews, some like, some hate.
You'd find BumG's at an online store, not sure if any of our MPM's stock them, but I know for Australia Nurture Nappies are the wholesaler.
Hippymummy, I'm not sure where you live, but if it's Melb/Tas way, then maybe also consider pockets - if you have them all set up, pre-stuffed and ready to go, they're as easy as AIO's or sposies for your DH (to be honest, I also am less inclined to reach for a cloth nappy if I have to go hunting for inserts). Otherwise, perhaps grab one or two of the brands that people recommend to give them a shot for yourself - what one mother loves, might not suit your baby.
For AIO's, maybe try an Itti Bitti, Magicall, BumGenius (I love the fit of these), Wildchild...
For Pockets, I find Hautes really similar to BumG's, and I love GreenKids.
I like Sunshine Tots - they're a OSFA and kind of a cross between an AIO & a pocket. It's all one piece but the insert is only sewn in at the top so you can pull it out for faster drying.
I also like Haute one size pockets - they're probably on the smaller side of things for a one size but that means they look a bit trimmer, they're really fast drying and nice and soft. I just stuff them as I take them off the washing line so they're ready to go whenever we need them.
