We are living in the country and have to travel to the city to have our little girl who is arriving via c-section on the 9th March. WOOHOO!!!!
So... The time has come to start getting ready and pack my bags and I am at my wits end trying to figure out what I will need to take for the little one.
We will be in the city for 2 weeks after she is born, 1 week in the hospi and then 1 week at my folks place. I dont have to take anything for the bub to the hospi so its really just for when we take her home.
As she is our first and I havent really been around any newborns, I only bought a few clothes in 000 and even less in 0000 as I didnt know how big she will be!
Can anyone give me a rough idea of what I will need and the quants?
Thanks girls!
Upside, it will still be warm so you wont need too many bulky things. If you intend on wrapping (which most do for at least the first few weeks), that counts as an extra layer too.
So, it will still get cool overnight - wondersuits Bonds are great for this, and prob 3 in 0000 will do. You will prob be given little things that are prettier than bonds, but they are so practical for early on Singlets in 0000 - a couple of lighter weight all in ones for daytime, then you have the option.
Pack spew flannels/nappies or whatever you plan on using - these can easily be forgotten!!! A couple of bibs, some booties (I have found with all 3 of mine socks just never stayed on!!), some mittens and some little hats cos its much colder for them outside than inside . Of course some wraps, blankets for the stay at parents.
Thats the basics - rule of thumb is as many layers as you have one plus one for a newbie.
