Question 4 month grizzly during wake time

My bubs has been great and always after his bottle happily stayed awake under his mobile mat or bouncer. Now in the last week he will just scream, squeal and grizzle and the only thing that stops him is if I pick him up and walk around. Why all of a sudden is he so unhappy? Not sure if he is upset or just bored?

I would hazard a guess that he is just bored. At four months they are going through a major developmental growth spurt...he has just realised that there is more to his world than his mobile mat, LOL. Maybe get down on the floor with him and introduce some new toys, shapes and noises. At this age they need lots of attention and are very time consuming, but it will pass. He will soon be more mobile and will be able to occupy himself for a little longer.
Enjoy your time playing with him and forget the housework for a little while.
    This too shall pass.

At 4mths they go through a HUGE developmental change which can be quite challenging for some bubs, hence the grizzlies. They are so much more aware of the world around them by now, and they are doing more, and interacting more with you all and they are stuck in a kind of limbo, where they want to do more physically, but can't kwim? Pretty soon you'll notice that all of a sudden he might be rolling all over the place during tummy/floor time and doing other things and it may settle him down a little bit and make him *happier*. My second child really suffered at this age developmentally because she just wanted to be on the go and nothing I did could make her happy for any length of time, one thing that worked was being sat fully upright and by 4.5mths she was crawling - and MUCH happier. So all she wanted was to be mobile and her grizzliness was just frustration at not being able to do what she wanted to.
