Heartburn During 1st Trimester - Quick-Eze or Peppermint Tea

    Hi everyone,

I am experiencing very bad heartburn - am also a sufferer when not pg but oh my it is so much worse now - I knew I would likely suffer from heartburn during a pg but so soon (I am 7 weeks, 2 days at the time of posting) is very surprising - and disappointing because I don't want to go through this for the next 8 months!

I have had a few quick-eze - maybe one every second day but was told (by a friend) I should drink peppermint tea but I read somewhere else to avoid herbal teas... so I have been drinking milk and trying to let it pass

Can't find any reliable info on this topic and thought I would turn to you all for advice

    Thanking you in advance

    Hi,
I use to suffer from really bad heart burn too and took Gaviscon which is safe during pregnancy but alot of the girls here swear by fruit tingles . Hope something works for you.

    Regards,
    Dianne

    Thanks Dianne,
I had heard about the fruit tingles but they give me the heebie jeebies at the best of times - there is just something about them I don't like - never have - yeah I know I am weird.

Hmmm will have to keep hunting!

I too am a regular HB sufferer - usually take Pariet when not UTD!

I went to my Pharmacy and he (very cute young fellow!) looked all the HB remedies up on his computer and recommended "Tums" as they don't have the stuff that causes constipation (have that already!) and are save during pregnancy - Category A - some of them (HB remedies) were category B.
