I work in business insurance, not the life department and for one of the two companies. From my own insurance experience (for my own family policies), what I'd be interested in is not so much the premium (if that doesn't worry you so much) and not even so much what is covered, but what ISN'T. There's no point being insured for a certain amount of cover/sum insured if every second thing you need to be covered for is excluded from the policy.
Perhaps work out what you want to be covered for, think of some scenarios where you might need to put in a claim and call each company and speak with a service officer. Tell them you're comparing covers and you'd like to know how their cover would respond to a particular situation hypothetically.
