How much does your toddler sleep in 24 hours?

    Hi all

Miss E (16 mths) usually goes to bed around 8pm and often sleeps until 8 am, but then has a long sleep every afternoon (1.5 - 3 hours ). That makes 13-15 hours asleep out of every 24!

How much does your toddler sleep in every 24 hour period?

My DS2 is 15 months old and he usually sleeps about 11.5 hours at night and then has two naps that usually equal a total of 3.5 hours. So he sleeps about 15 hours a day! It sounds a lot when you think about it doesn't it?

My 18 month old DS usually goes to bed around 8 but is awake and in our bed by 3 for a feed then wakes again at 7. He has a 1.5 to 2 hour sleep during the day...so roughly 13 hours.

Marydean - my DS (18 months) sleeps around the same as your DD. He generally goes to bed about 8pm and sleeps until 7.30-8am, then goes down for his sleep at 12.30 and usually sleeps 2.5 to 3 hours. I figure enjoy the peace and quiet while you can - one day they won't have a daytime sleep (now that will seriuosly eat into my BB time!)

Yeah we just stopped the day sleep here *sigh*

so he's usually in bed by 7pm and gets up at 5.30am

If he gets a sleep during the day - its usually an hour - and then he will go to bed at around 9.30 - and again - up at 5.30am.

Seems he doesn't need sleep to function.

Note to self * On Arimeh's advice, enjoy daytime sleep while I can *. Mel that makes me feel tired even thinking about it!

My 2yo sleeps around 11 hours at night and 2-3hours in the afternoon (as long as she's at home - if we're anywhere else it's only 40mins-1hour day sleep). So I suppose when everything is normal, 13-14 hours.

DS1 - goes to bed about 930pm and will sleep until 9am 4 days a week and 7am 3 days a week then has a sleep at day care for about 3hrs... So he would sleep for a min of 11.5hrs 4 days a week and 12.5hrs 3 days a week!

DS2 - goes to bed about 930pm and will sleep until 9am 4 days a week and 7am 3 days a week then has a sleep at day care for about 4hrs... So he would sleep for a min of 12.5hrs 4 days a week and 13.5hrs 3 days a week!

Man I'm a bad mum when it comes to going to bed early!!! DS1 refuses to go to bed unless it is dark out!

DD (22 months) goes to bed at 7.30 most nights, and wakes up at 8.30ish most mornings, so 13 hours overnight.

And then usually has a nap for 2-3 hours in the middle of the day, so can be as much as 16 hours of sleeping in a day.

Man am I glad that we have a good sleeper!

My DS sleeps about 11.5-12hrs at night and has just recently dropped to one day sleep of about 2 hours, occasionally he'll do 3, so about 13-15 hours here too.

Yup. I'm tired. DD doesnt' go to bed till usually after 11.30pm... so its to bed at 11.30 - up at 5.30 - with a couple of wake ups in between. No wonder I have such bags under my eyes and grey hair... lol

DD sleeps for 11 hours at night and about another four during the day. She's not a morning person at all and goes back to bed for her day nap just two hours after getting up and sleeps for another four hours.

So yep, 15 hours total here but can be more if she's teething. The other day her 'day nap' lasted 6 hours which sounds fab but sends me stir crazy.
