Its so hot - we have a pool in our building, but I have hesitated taking the baby in because of the chlorine.
Does anyone have any thoghts/opinions on this?
I have kept my 7 year old home due to the strike - and she desperately wants to go for a swim, but I dont want to sit around in the heat watching her.... very cautious about taking an 8 week old in there though!!!
I know that my local swim centre does swimming lessons from 3 months - in a chlorinated pool. There are lots of babies who go there for lessons.
I started with DS when he was 6 months & I did notice his skin got a bit dry from the chlorine - but I would just lather him up with moisturiser afterwards.
I would agree both of the above posts. When DD started swimming lessons, her eczema started to play up. Since I started rinsing after and using a moisturiser, it's no longer a problem. I highly recommend Moo Goo, it's fantastic.
Were took MJ swimming from about 6 weeks old... and that was cos i had to wait to stop bleeding.
Just make sure that you wash off the chlorine from her skin afterwards
She will love it = enjoy
We got a pool for our girls for Xmas....and when DH does put chlorine in, we make sure the girls dont go in the pool that particular day....or if they do (i.e beg us....) we just make sure there is no going under water.
