    Frustrated & emotional

    Hi all

This is my first time here. We have just finished our 6th ivf cycle (5 stimulated, one frozen). Blood test was negative again, as I knew it would be as my period started the day before.

How many times can you keep doing this? Each time we feel so positive, this will be the one, but it never is. Only one cycle resulted in frozen embryos. The FET did result in a pregnancy but not a viable one, it lasted about two days.

I don't know anyone else who has gone through IVF (possibly I do, they just don't talk about it - like me). I would love to hear some positive stories, that maybe after all this time, it does work.

Lee : Welcome to BB - you will find so much support and caring ladies here that you will not feel alone, I have just had a negative on my third cycle, and I know it's not my 6th, but after years of ttc I know how you feel, as do many ladies here.

Again welcome and dont worry you are not alone xx

Hi Lee - i know it can seem tough sometimes to stay positive after so many transfers but it is important to remember that everyone's body is different and for some it may happen on the first time and others maybe the tenth. I have had 3 stim transfers and 5 FETS all resulting in a BFN but i still believe that i will fall pregnant some day.In fact, I am convinced that my FET this month will be the one! Whenever i feel down, i remind myself about all my friends who have had children naturally and how for some of them it happened within a couple of months and for others it took up to 12 months. I liken 1 ebryo tranfer to 1 month of trying for a woman who does not have fertility issues - kind of makes sense when you look at it like that!!!

Thank you both for your replies. Sorry for the whinge. I have been reading some of the other forums and there are so many out there struggling with the same issues and many are much worse off than me.

I will just wait until March when we can try another stim cycle and believe that it will be the one. Best of luck to you

Hi Lee and welcome to bellybelly. Firstly I wanted to offer you a great big cyber hug I admire your courage to keep going and I hope you stay positive that one day you will fall pregnant. It does happen, my twins are the result of my third IVF transfer, after a couple of years of fertility treatment, and one non viable pregnancy (my first IVF transfer). Perhaps it would be good if you join the girls in the LTTTC/Assisted conception thread, that way you are all there to support each other through your cycles.

Good luck for your March cycle. I really hope it is 'the one' for you

    Hi Lee,
IVF is an emtional rollercoaster as you well know and it is very hard to stay positive but it does work eventually. After 4 years of TTC which included 7 IVF cycles (5 full cycles and 2 FETs) I finally fell pregnant with my DS. Then again last year after 3 FETs we were blessed with our DD. It took 7 years in total but it did work.
I was lucky to have a few friends who were going through IVF or who had been through it who gave me support and every one of them eventually had a baby, the time it took to achieve it just varied.
Good luck with your next cycle, I wish you the best!

    Hi Kate & Monica

Thank you so much. To know that these miracles do happen has really made my day. I will just keep trying and not give up.
