This is my first time on here but after hours of internet research I still can't seem to find an answer to what's happened to me so wondered if anyone could shed some light.
Here is the situation
August 04 - Had just met my then boyfriend now husband, had termination
October 05 - Had a son by csection
December 05- D&C for retained products of conception
April 07 - Blighted ovum, d&c to remove it
Sept/Oct 07 - Chemical pregnancy, got "period" at 5 weeks
Feb 08 - Miscarried at 6 weeks 5 days, took misoprostol to avoid d&c, didnt work, had d&c and two weeks later woke up with uncontrollably bleeding and clotting falling out of me. Another d&c the next day to remove whatever was left.
I am guessing that a total of 5 d&cs and a caesar would have caused a lot of scarring to my uterus. It doesn't help that in the last two years I have gained about 20kg which I am pretty sure is from eating and drinking from the pain of it all.
I think towards the end of the year I will see Dr Mike Aitken at Fertility WA for investigations and try and lose the weight in the process.
Has anyone had anything similar and had any luck with conceiving afterwards?
i have had two d&c and 2 c/s and it took 91 days for my AF to return after my mismiscarriage in sept.
i waited 2 weeks like you in the hope of not needing another .
i was having investigations as to why my AF was MIA as i was ovulating.
the gyno believed that i had a combination of cervical stenosis (where the cervix is tight shut, maybe from scaring) and that it was taking an extra long time for my lining to regenerate
and he booked me in to have a hystoscopy (i think its called where they put a camera up to have a look).
but lucky me got my AF 2 days after i saw him
i was also on the look out for anything to help scaring and found some info on evening primrose oil. this also helps with cervical mucas (?sp).
if you search BB you can find some great info on it also try google. you need to take it only in the first 2 weeks of your cycle as it it is not recogmended in early pregnancy.
i started taking it after my last bleed thinking my AF had arrived and found out last week that i am UTD again
but my last bleed must have been implantation because i have been having symptoms for a few weeks (technically somewhere between 5-8 weeks) i'll need an US to date.
so i did not need it in the end!! (i will keep it for the last tri )
HTH.
you will probably want to get your Doc to run some tests on you and your DH as you have had 3 early losses.
there is a "sticky" with info on the names of the tests at the top of this page.
knowledge is power, don't be scared to find answers you have a DS and i hope you can have a sibling for him very soon.
be kind to yourself and your DH
